On the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan in 2024, President Aleksandr Lukashenko said that Belarus and Venezuela are working on a new roadmap to intensify bilateral relations, which also envisages the implementation of joint projects and the increase in trade turnover between the two republics.

The inauguration of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, has taken place in Caracas recently. The large-scale event was accompanied by a number of business meetings attended by representatives of the Development Bank as part of the Belarusian delegation. In particular, First Deputy Chairman of the Board Roman Brodov discussed the issues of increasing trade turnover between Belarus and Venezuela at a meeting with Venezuela’s Vice President Ricardo Menendez. The parties identified priority areas of co-operation to expand mutual trade and implement important bilateral projects in the field of industry, transport and infrastructure.

Also, at one of the meetings with foreign partners, an agreement was reached on the creation of a legislative and financial infrastructure for the provision of loans by the Development Bank for the purchase of domestic goods and services in demand in Venezuela.
