Belarus, UAE discussed increase in trade turnover

As reported by the Agriculture and Food Ministry’s Telegram channel, the talks focused on increased trade turnover and development of investment co-operation.
A number of Belarusian food industry enterprises presented their products during the meeting. "The Arab side recognised their high quality and expressed interest in their supplies. Moreover, the parties agreed to hold repeated negotiations in the near future," the source said.
According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry, from January-August 2022, the growth rate of Belarus-UAE trade turnover made 181.1 percent compared to the same period in 2021. The growth of food exports amounted to 186.9 percent, the growth of imports – 146.3 percent.
Mainly, milk and dairy products are exported to the United Arab Emirates (3.3-fold increase), including skimmed milk powder (4.2-fold increase); fish and fish products (146.4 percent), including ready-made or canned fish, sturgeon caviar and its substitutes (154 percent); eggs and egg products (growth of 98.1 percent). Other Belarusian products, such as sugar confectionery, are also sold to the UAE.
