Belarus to take part in international tourism forum and exhibition in Moscow in September

Belarus’ tourism potential will go on display at the OTDYKH Leisure 2024 International Tourism Forum and Exhibition in September, according to a statement on the organisers’ website

“From September 17th-19th, 2024, the Moscow Expocentre Fairgrounds will be hosting the 30th OTDYKH Leisure 2024 International Tourism Forum and Exhibition – the main industry event in Russia before the start of the autumn-winter tourist season, which solves the task of stimulating year-round travel demand,” the organisers informed. “In 2024, over 40 Russian regions, as well as more than 25 countries of the world, including Cuba, China, Egypt, Oman, Sri Lanka, Belarus, Uzbekistan, etc., have already joined this event.”

The forum-exhibition is a professional platform for settling business problems in the area of tourism, hospitality and the meeting industry. Representatives of leading tour operators and travel agencies, regional tourism offices, experts and practitioners meet here to assess the events and changes that have occurred in the tourism industry over the past year, analyse support measures and set new trends and directions for tourism development. The OTDYKH Leisure event is constantly expanding its profile, covering all new cross-sectoral areas: cultural and creative industries, the health industry, entertainment, etc. Thus, the project fulfils its mission: to promote the diversity and creativity of tourism products both in Russia and abroad, as well as the accessibility of travel for tourists with different income levels.

In 2023, the event was attended by 9,500 people from 51 countries and 67 regions of Russia. Of these, 69 percent were specialists in the procurement of a tourist product, 65 percent were managers who influence decision-making. The business programme consisted of 34 sections and was attended by 186 industry experts, with a total of 2,800 delegates attending.
