Belarus, Tambov Region agreed on joint production of agricultural machinery and buses
Belarus and Russia’s Tambov Region are planning to organise a joint production of agricultural machinery and buses in Tambov – as noted today by Governor of this Russian region Maxim Yegorov after his meeting with the President of Belarus. According to him, a large number of Belarusian equipment works in the fields and in the housing and communal services of the Tambov Region.
“Many Western manufacturers have left the market, and we, of course, look towards Belarus and are confident that the unique enterprises that were set up back in Soviet times will be able to satisfy our demand. We discuss the purchase of agricultural, municipal equipment, buses and trolleybuses. Moreover, in advance, already in October-November, we will compile a procurement plan, enabling enterprises to supply the appropriate goods on time,” he added.
In addition, Maxim Yegorov said that at one of the production facilities in Tambov, where European tractor equipment was once assembled, it is planned – together with Belarusian partners – to organise a new production of agricultural equipment and, possibly, buses. As far as the timing of the creation of new production is concerned, the head of the Russian region replied, “The sooner the better… We have an excellent understanding with your ministries. We are on the same wave. Therefore, everything that we have planned, we will fulfil and get even closer.”
According to Maxim Yegorov, a separate issue that was discussed during the visit was the patriotic education of our youth, “You have wonderful sites of cultural heritage… Yesterday we visited the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. I enjoy history very much, I know it and was pleasantly surprised by the presented exhibits. We will definitely bring a delegation of Tambov schoolchildren and students here.”
