Belarus, Russia to build factory in Turkish Kilis for production of reinforced concrete for large-panel housing construction
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Turkiye, Viktor Rybak, stated that Belarus is open to co-operation with Turkiye in all spheres, sb.by reports with reference to the Foreign Ministry
Viktor Rybak noted that the states liaise at the highest level, “We are open to co-operation with Turkiye in all areas. Let me remind you that, in April 2019, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko paid an official visit to Ankara and met with Turkish President Recep Erdogan. At that meeting, our leaders reached an agreement to increase the volume of trade to $1.5bn. According to the Belarusian statistics, we have almost reached that goal, and – based on the Turkish data – the figure has been even surpassed.”
The diplomat informed that work is currently underway on a project in Turkiye, “It is being implemented jointly with the Russian side. We will build a plant in Kilis for the production of reinforced concrete products for large-panel housing construction. Experts from Belarus and Russia met in Ankara last week to discuss this issue with the Turkish side. Our Belarusian company, a Russian company and a Turkish company are in close contact with TOKI [the Turkish state agency regulating the construction sector]. I am absolutely sure that this project will make a great contribution to the development of Turkish cities, which, unfortunately, suffered as a result of the devastating earthquake.”
Mr. Rybak added that political consultations took place in April, “They were held at the level of deputy foreign ministers. We discussed how to strengthen our bilateral relations. In November 2023, Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik visited Ankara, and we are currently waiting for Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Belarus as part of a return visit.”
