Belarus, Russia signed agreement on co-operation in the field of spent nuclear fuel management

An agreement between the governments of the Russian Federation and Belarus on co-operation in the field of spent nuclear fuel management was signed as part of the ATOMEXPO-2022 international forum by Rosatom CEO Aleksei Likhachev and Belarus’ Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich

As noted by Mr. Karankevich earlier, the document addresses issues of interaction with Russian colleagues in the field of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) management, and further with nuclear materials obtained as part of the SNF reprocessing. “The signing of this document indicates that all the activities within the framework of the Union State programme on nuclear energy development have been completed,” he said.
