Belarus ratified agreement with Russia on development and organisation of Osvey aircraft mass production

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed a law ratifying the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and Russia on the development and oranisation of mass production of the twin-engine light multipurpose aircraft Osvey, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The investment project for the development of the 19-seat Osvey aircraft and the organisation of its serial production on the premises of the 558th Aviation Repair Plant is being implemented as part of a comprehensive interdepartmental programme for co-operation with Russia in the field of aircraft construction.

The agreement – signed on April 15th, 2024 – determines the main issues of the organisation, financing and implementation of the investment project, authorised bodies, rights to the results of intellectual activity, as well as the volume of orders for the production of fuselages and aircraft placed by the Russian side with the 558th Aviation Repair Plant.

The adoption of the law makes it possible to create conditions in Belarus for the formation of its own aircraft industry.
