Belarus’ Ministry of Natural Resources made speech at 46th session of UNESCO Committee on preservation of Belovezhskaya Pushcha
On July 25th, Belarus’ First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Aleksandr Korbut made a statement after the UNESCO World Heritage Committee adopted a decision on the preservation of the Belovezhskaya Pushcha, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian ministry’s press service
The 46th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee is taking place these days in the capital of India, Delhi. During the event, Aleksandr Korbut told the participants about the negative impact of the barrier structure erected by the Republic of Poland on the territory of the Belovezhskaya Pushcha – a transboundary UNESCO World Heritage Site – on its ecosystems.
Thus, the First Deputy Minister drew the attention of those present to the violation of the hydrological regime, the blocking of animal migration routes, the spread of alien and invasive plants.
