Belarusian electric buses and charging stations launched operation in Sochi
Nine new electric buses and three charging stations for them – manufactured by the Belarusian company BKM Holding (former Belkommunmash) – have arrived in Sochi (Russia) this year and their operation has already been launched, the Belarusian enterprise’s media centre reports
“Since October 1st, electric buses have started cruising around the central part of the city,” the company noted. “Previously, since 2021, only one BKM Holding electric bus was running in Sochi. Now there are ten of them. Residents and guests of the resort have already appreciated the convenience of the new transport.”
According to the Belarusian company, Sochi Mayor Andrei Proshunin took part in the presentation of Belarusian passenger vehicles, inspecting a batch of electric buses and assessing their advantages. In turn, Sochi transport workers noted that Belarus-made vehicles fully comply with the safety standards of passenger transportation and all the requirements of a barrier-free environment.
The E321 electric buses of the Olgerd series that arrived in Sochi are equipped with validators for non-cash fare payment, a passenger flow counting system, climate control, USB sockets, electronic route designators, a speed limit system, a video surveillance system, media panels, a voice announcement device, an automatic fire detection and extinguishing system. The autonomous range of the electric bus in urban mode is 60km.
BKM Holding is a leading manufacturer of modern urban electric transport in the CIS. The company is engaged in the development, production, sale, modernisation and maintenance of trolleybuses, trams, electric buses, electric trucks and charging stations.
