Belarus’ Information Minister: opponents hope in vain that creation of Union State holding may slow down, active work over it is underway
Ill-wishers to Belarus and Russia in vain cherish the hope that the Union State media holding will never be created: active work is underway to make it fully operational – as stated by Information Minister Marat Markov during the Minsk-Moscow live streaming
The Information Minister noted that Belarus and Russia can and should be represented on each other's information platforms in a much broader form than at present. “We have a common information space, we have a union,” he stressed.
Mr. Markov added that Russian channels are broadcast in Belarus, “There are absolutely no restrictions for them in the country, and anyone can easily connect to them.”
According to the Information Minister, the topic of creating a media holding of the Union State is being discussed very actively and in detail, “Although opponents flatter themselves that the media holding project will never be realised, we are actually very actively working over its creation. At the beginning of this year, a number of decisions were made at the level of the Head of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, and they are now being implemented,” he noted.
Mr. Markov expressed confidence that the 1st Information Channel will soon be broadcast in all Russian regions. “It will be wonderful and right, because we are allies and we need to understand how the situation stands in each country,” he stressed.
