Belarus establishing co-operation with Pakistan in environmental protection
Belarus’ Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ivan Prikhodko has held talks with deputies of the National Assembly of Pakistan, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian ministry’s press service
“The meeting was held in order to fulfil the agreement to develop bilateral co-operation across all areas reached during the talks between President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif as part of the SCO summit on July 4th,” the statement reads.
The Belarusian side conveyed to the representatives of Pakistan’s National Assembly proposals on the interdepartmental document on co-operation in environmental protection, which will form the basis for subsequent negotiations in the preparation of a relevant bilateral act.
The main areas of interaction include the implementation of the principles of the green economy, mitigation of the effects of climate change, protection of atmospheric air, management of specially protected natural territories, development of ecotourism, and waste management.
