Belarus’ Energy Ministry: 3,200 people visited BelNPP information centre in H1 2024
The number of visitors to the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) information centre in the first half of 2024 increased by 23 percent (compared to the same period last year) and reached 3,200 people, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian Energy Ministry’s press service
As part of the excursion groups, the information facility was visited by labour teams of enterprises and organisations of various sectors of the economy, representatives of ministries, departments and public organisations, young people, delegations from Russia, Turkiye, and China.
“The information centre enables visitors to get acquainted in detail with the stages of construction of the Belarusian NPP, learn interesting facts about innovative technologies and high-tech equipment used within the framework of the project, working conditions of personnel, integration of the power plant into the country’s energy system and its role in ensuring energy security,” the department noted.
According to the press centre, in recent years, the number of Belarusians who positively assess the impact of nuclear energy on the development of the energy industry and the strengthening of energy independence has increased remarkably. According to the results of recent sociological studies conducted by the NAS’ Institute of Sociology, 58 percent of respondents are confident that the situation in the fuel and energy complex will improve with the commissioning of the nuclear power plant, 15.6 percent are convinced that it will not change for the worse, 3 percent admit worsening, and 23.4 percent find it difficult to answer.
