Belarus, Egypt to expand bilateral co-operation in youth policy and sports
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt Sergei Terentiev has met with Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service
It is noted that the parties had agreed to expand interaction in the field of youth policy and sports. It is planned to update previously signed co-operation agreements, as well as to organise competitions between national teams in weightlifting, boxing and judo in 2024.
“One of the key points of the meeting was the agreement to expand liaisons in the field of sports medicine, enabling to improve the health and training of athletes from both countries, increasing their efficiency and effectiveness in the international arena,” the department noted.
Ashraf Sobhy also congratulated the Belarusian Ambassador on Victory Day, emphasising the importance of historical ties and solidarity between the two countries in the struggle for peace and stability.
