Belarus, Egypt agreed to expand co-operation in education and science
The education ministries of Belarus and Egypt plan to strengthen co-operation, focusing on joint projects in the field of science, sb.by reports with reference to the Education Ministry’s press service
"The Belarusian delegation is returning from the 2nd International Forum of Education Ministers – Shaping the Future – with a portfolio of agreements. This year, a major event took place in Kazan from June 9th to 12th and gathered more than 100 representatives of foreign countries,” the source said.
It is reported that Belarus’ Minister Andrei Ivants met with his colleague from Egypt, Mohamed Ayman Ashour. The parties agreed to intensify co-operation in personnel training for one of the largest economies of the Arab East, showing interest (including within the framework of joint programmes) in the field of mechanical engineering, microelectronics, and engineering. The ministers also discussed the prospects for co-operation in the field of science: i.e. conducting and participating in competitions, direct interaction between scientists and the teaching staff.
Currently, direct interaction between educational institutions of Belarus and Egypt is being implemented within the framework of eleven co-operation agreements. Mr. Ivanets invited his colleague to visit Belarus to take part in the 2nd bilateral forum of rectors. The event is supposed to contribute to the further development of relations.
Mr. Ivanets stressed at the meeting, “The holding of this forum will contribute to the further development of friendship and co-operation between the Republic of Belarus and the Arab Republic of Egypt in the field of education and science, as well as discussion of promising areas of bilateral liaisons.”
