Belarus’ Defence Minister Aide: tactical nuclear weapons will be stored untouched if no one penetrates into country
The West is acutely reacting to the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, but the country has repeatedly stated that these weapons could be used only in case of a threat – as emphasised by the Aide to the Defence Minister for Ideological Work in the Armed Forces – Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work at the Defence Ministry, Major General Leonid Kasinsky, in his talk with the STV TV channel

Mr. Kasinsky reminded that, in the current situation, every Belarusian should be vigilant, adding that hotlines are available in law enforcement agencies. “The Defence Ministry hotline works around the clock, and citizens sometimes address it. Of course, it never hurts to increase vigilance," he said.
The Major General also touched upon the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. “Should we make a problem out of this? Our western neighbours are trying to make a problem. The Commander-in-Chief [of the Armed Forces, Aleksandr Lukashenko] has very clearly defined everything: we are not going to attack anyone. The Commander–in-Chief has also clearly outlined the use of tactical nuclear weapons: only in case of aggression. What is the problem? Stay out of our way, and the weapons will be stored in warehouses. We are not going to attack anyone," he stressed.
Mr. Kasinsky suggested that the West is reacting so sharply to the happening events because the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus has hindered its plans. The British media, for example, openly declare that sabotage groups are being prepared in Poznan in case of coups.
“They just quote this, but no one even says that it is bad that militants are preparing in Poland to undermine the state system. Therefore, vigilance does not hurt, and our citizens should understand this," the Major General concluded.
