A meeting with representatives of Belarus’ medical sphere took place at Minsk’s Centre for Examinations and Tests in Health Service, and the sides discussed implementation of the possibility of localising the production of Belarusian and Cuban medicines on the territory of the two countries. Proposals to expand liaisons between the both sides’ pharmaceutical manufacturers in order to increase mutual supplies of drugs were voiced. Prospects for the use of vaccines against COVID-19 in Belarus were discussed, in addition to the establishment of information exchange in the field of registration of medicines and medical products.
As noted by the Centre’s Director, Dmitry Grinko, the Cuban side was particularly interested in the issues of registration and circulation of medicines and medical devices according to the national rules and the Eurasian Union’s regulations.
"The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has set a task for the Healthcare Ministry to join new markets to sell Belarusian products. Cuba is a promising partner in this regard. One of the most important tasks of our country’s healthcare system is to provide affordable and high–quality medical products to Belarusians, and I am convinced that co-operation in these areas will contribute to mutual saturation of the two states’ markets with medical products," Mr. Grinko stressed.
