Belarus’ confectionery industry focuses on import substitution

Organisations of Belogospishcheprom Concern have been involved into modernisation of their production facilities since 2011 – to reduce imports of confectioneries. As a result, more than 30 import-substituting projects have been implemented, and 100+ new chocolate products have been offered to sweet-lovers – including analogues of well-known brands.

“From 2011-2021, our confectionery enterprises invested more than $193m into modernisation,” Belgospishcheprom Concern’s Chairman Oleg Zhidkov has informed.

Modernisation was carried out by replacement of physically and morally outdated equipment with new production lines.
