Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry met with delegation of South Sudan
Today, Agriculture and Food Ministry hosted a meeting between representatives of South Sudan and the Belarusian party. The guests were welcomed by First Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister, Sergei Fedchenko
The First Deputy Minister started from presenting to the guests the possibilities of the agricultural sector of the republic.
“We have achieved incredible results in 30 years,” he underlined. “At that time, we were net importers of grain, meat, dairy and other products. Today, we not only provide the domestic market, but also have the opportunity to export agricultural products. Our national technologies and modern machinery are mainly used in fields and farms. Now we are ready to offer South Sudan equipment, machinery, and we may design large-scale farms.”
Sergei Fedchenko also emphasised the great potential of our republic in agricultural education: there are four higher agricultural educational institutions in Belarus.
“We can not only train your representatives, but retrain existing personnel,” the First Deputy Minister added.
The First Deputy Minister also recalled that the best achievements of the agricultural industry are presented annually at the exhibition Belagro and invited representatives of South Sudan to visit it this year from June 4th to 9th as guests and exhibitors.
Sergei Fedchenko concluded by calling for mutually beneficial co-operation.
