Bali tourists banned from renting motorcycles

Bali Governor Wayan Koster noted that tourists of the island will be prohibited from renting motorcycles. According to Bloomberg, the authorities’ decision was made because of several severe accidents.

Mr. Koster stressed that some tourists are undisciplined and behave improperly. Therefore, the ban will force them to use transport services provided by the Bali tourism business.

As reported, it is still unclear how this measure will be controlled. According to the source, Mr. Koster appealed to the Foreign Ministry and the Justice Ministry of Indonesia with a request to give Bali the right to terminate visas of tourists if the latter are stopped driving a motorcycle or in case of other offenses.
