Aviation Department: sanctions haven’t fundamentally affected stability of work of aviation organisations
Restrictions from a number of countries did not fundamentally affect the stability of the work of domestic aviation organiaations. As previously, the services are ensured at a high professional level, meeting all international norms and standards. The airline network is developing, and the industry continues to provide the most favourable conditions for air transportation and high-quality service for Belarusian citizens and guests of our country – as noted by Igor Golub, the Director of the Aviation Department of the Transport and Communications Ministry.
“Amid the imposed restrictions, the cessation of flights by Western airlines to Belarus, and domestic carriers to Europe, and the general decrease in air traffic, flights by Belarusian carriers continue. I’m primarily referring to Russia, the countries of the Caucasus region, Central Asia, the Middle East, etc. Flights of foreign air carriers from friendly countries to our country also continue. Today, the national airline Belavia operates regular flights from Minsk National Airport, as well as Gomel and Brest regional airports to 22 airports in 10 countries. These are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Makhachkala, Murmansk, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Turkiye, the UAE, and India. Moreover, Minsk National Airport sends and receives flights from nine foreign carriers from Russia, Uzbekistan, China, and the UAE. Work is also underway to attract partners from the member states of the Eurasian integration and the CIS to resume and open new flights. First of all, we are talking about new directions from the Russian regions,” Igor Golub explained.
