Australia to deploy radar detection aircraft in Germany

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his country had decided to deploy an E-7 Wedgetail long-range radar detection and control aircraft (AWACS) in Germany, TASS reports

At a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, the Australian Prime Minister said, “I am today announcing a new step by Australia aimed at ensuring security in Europe: we will deploy an E-7 Wedgetail early warning aircraft in Germany.”

Mr. Albanese added that the aircraft and a servicing team of 100 people will stay in Germany for about six months.
