Architecture and Construction Minister on Belarus’ plans to build settlement in Karabakh
The Belarusian side is developing a project to build a settlement for 420 families in the Aghdam Region of Azerbaijan – as noted by Belarus’ Architecture and Construction Minister Ruslan Parkhamovich
The Architecture and Construction Ministry will work together with Azerbaijani colleagues, as well as the two countries’ agriculture ministries. According to Mr. Parkhamovich, it is very important to provide people with comfortable housing and decent jobs.
“We have planned to work on the urban planning passport of a particular settlement, after which we will proceed to the development of design documentation for all its facilities, and subsequently plan to build housing and infrastructure (transport, engineering and social facilities). We have quite serious plans. This is the first test object. If everything goes well, we will extend the work to several more sites in the near future,” the Belarusian official explained.
It is planned that the Belarusian ministry will develop a concept for Azerbaijani colleagues in the coming months. Mr. Parkhamovich added that our country is ready for such co-operation and expects to enter the local market with ‘broad construction forces’ by 2027, “It is important that this will be a Belarusian contribution to the revival of these territories.”
Despite the fact that these areas are mountainous, Belarusian designers and builders understand the peculiarities and are ready to work.
“We will add a Belarusian piece to the local architecture. I think this will benefit the appearance of the revived territories,” the Architecture and Construction Minister added.
