Antonov said US seeks to benefit from Ukraine conflict through arms supply
The United States does not want the conflict between Kiev and Moscow to end, as Washington benefits from the continuation of hostilities, earning on the sale of weapons – as noted by Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, RIA Novosti reports
Antonov stressed that the United States cannot escape responsibility for prolonging the conflict and killing innocent people.
“However, the United States continues with its maniacal persistence to adhere to the tactics of war of attrition by exhausting everyone – Ukrainians, Russians, Europeans as well as ordinary Americans. As they say, the war with Russia is ‘until the last Ukrainian’,” the diplomat said.
According to him, there are several reasons for this behaviour of Washington, and one of them is economic.
“The desire to skim the cream through the mass sale of military equipment and LNG supplies: nothing personal, just business,” the Russian Ambassador explained.
Earlier, Anatoly Antonov said that the political dialogue between the United States and Russia is practically paralysed. According to him, co-operation between Kiev and Moscow is violated even in cases where issues are of mutual interest.
