American media: US plans to send depleted uranium tank shells to Ukraine

The Wall Street Journal referred to American officials in saying that the White House plans to approve the provision of depleted uranium tank shells to Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports

“The Biden administration is expected to provide Ukraine with depleted uranium rounds following weeks of internal debate about how to equip the Abrams tanks that the US is giving to Kiev,” the source said.

Also, according to one of the officials, there are no serious obstacles at the moment to approving the shipment of depleted uranium shells to Ukraine, but some official persons in the White House are concerned that Washington will be criticised for this move, since such shells pose a danger to human health and the environment.
