Ambassador: Chinese respect Russia for protecting their interests
According to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to China, Andrei Denisov, the Russian reaction to actions of the West arouses understanding and respect among Chinese, RIA Novosti reports
Mr. Denisov said that the US has been almost openly declaring in recent times its intention to ‘discard’ China and stop the country’s development. "It is no secret. It is not the case when nice words are proclaimed, while something else is being done surreptitiously," the diplomat added.
Mr. Denisov noted that Russia's actions in Ukraine find understanding and even support among ordinary Chinese. According to him, this has developed because of the policy of the West, which believes in its superiority and openly and fearlessly declares its intentions towards China. The same refers to Russia as well.
“Our reaction arouses understanding and sometimes even respect among the citizens of China. They [demonstrate] respect to the fact that Russia, in general, finds the strength to defend its interests," the diplomat stated.
