Aliyev on talks with Lukashenko: everything we discussed is of specific nature
The agreements between Baku and Minsk are of particularly specific nature – as stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev after today’s talks with President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko
The Azerbaijani leader stressed that the current negotiations once again clearly demonstrated that the countries are good friends, “Today we have analysed in detail the recent development of our relations and welcomed their dynamism, outlining the ways for further co-operation.”
The parties have agreed to identify concrete steps for the implementation of the agreements reached with deadlines and responsible persons by the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Minsk. According to Ilham Aliyev, this will further increase the potential for mutual trade-economic liaisons.
“Everything we have talked about today is of specific nature. First of all, this refers to industrial co-operation, the creation of joint ventures in Belarus and Azerbaijan and the increase of the potential of those joint facilities that have already been established many years ago. This primarily covers machine building,” Ilham Aliyev said.
Moreover, the presidents have discussed the development of relations in the military-industrial complex, agriculture, and transport. The President of Azerbaijan also personally invited the Belarusian leader to attend the UN Climate Change Conference in November 2024. By this time, the heads of state plan to be reported by responsible persons on the implementation of the instructions given during the current visit.
