Aleinik: Myanmar’s diplomatic presence in Minsk will help partners get to know Belarus in detail
Belarus’ Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik held negotiations with the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Than Shwe, as part of his visit to Belarus – as reported by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of trade-economic, sci-tech, educational and cultural interaction.
“Special attention was paid to co-operation in the field of modernisation of agriculture. The Belarusian side underlined its readiness to share existing experience and achievements in the field of ensuring food security. The heads of foreign ministries shared their views on issues of the global and regional agenda, as well as on the topic of interaction between the two countries within the framework of international organisations,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Sergei Aleinik welcomed the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Belarus, which will officially take place during the visit, noting that the diplomatic presence of Myanmar in Minsk will help partners get to know Belarus in more detail, alongside its trade-economic, scientific and educational potential.
