Aleinik: any conferences on European security without participation of Belarus, Russia don’t make sense
Any conference on European security without the participation of Belarus and Russia does not make sense – as noted by Belarus’ Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik on the sidelines of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress
“We proceed from the fact that any events, any conferences related to European security, have neither prospects nor sense without the participation of Belarus and Russia. Switzerland is planning to hold a so-called peace summit on Ukraine in the near future. Belarus has not yet received an invitation from the Swiss side,” Mr. Aleinik stated.
At the same time, he also added that the Swiss Foreign Minister does not rule out that this conference will be postponed.
“We know that such a summit is being prepared. We believe that the absence of an invitation does not reflect the reality that is currently developing in the European region, and the contribution that Belarus has made and continues to make to the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis,” the Foreign Minister of Belarus asserted.
