AFU tried to strike Kursk nuclear power plant
On the night of August 22nd, the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to strike the Kursk nuclear power plant, the International Atomic Energy Agency has been notified, and it promised to come and assess the situation – as informed by Russian President Vladimir Putin at today’s meeting on the situation developing in the border regions of the Russian Federation, TASS reports
"The enemy tried to strike the nuclear power plant last night. The International Atomic Energy Agency has been notified, and it promised to send specialists to assess the situation. I hope they will do that,” the Russian leader said.
Earlier, IAEA Head Rafael Grossi called the risk of damage to the Kursk NPP due to the actions of the Ukrainian military very serious. He also announced plans to visit the facility, talk with its management and determine whether attacks have been carried out. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, reported that Rafael Grossi's visit to the Kursk nuclear power plant at the end of August is being worked out.
