About 10,000 troops from different countries to take part in Baltops exercises in Lithuania
Almost 10,000 military personnel from different countries will take part in the Baltops exercises in Lithuania in June, TASS reports
Lithuanian Defence Minister Laurynas Kasciunas stressed that the drills would be the largest ever conducted by the Lithuanian authorities. Scheduled for June 4th-21st, they aim to strengthen military potential of the armed forces of different countries in order to ensure the safety and freedom of navigation in the Baltic Sea.
According to the Lithuanian National Television and Radio portal, ships from the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and a number of other European countries will take part in the Baltops exercises.
On April 22nd, the largest military manoeuvres in the country over the past decade, Thunder Strike, kicked off in Lithuania, involving 20,000 soldiers of the Lithuanian army and NATO allies.
