50 MAZ buses delivered to Sochi
Fifty gas-powered buses produced at the Minsk Automobile Works (MAZ) have arrived in the Russian resort city of Sochi in pursuance of previously reached agreements, the Embassy of Belarus in Russia reports
This is a batch of machinery contracted by the Sochi Mayor’s Office at the Belarusian enterprise. In January 2024, the resort city authorities announced plans to purchase new vehicles from Belarus.
“As part of international co-operation, it is expected to receive fifty Belarus-made buses and nine electric buses with three charging stations,” noted the Sochi administration.
In early February, the supply of the Belarusian machinery was discussed by Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi and Krasnodar Krai Vice-Governor Aleksandr Ruppel via videolink. It was noted that a total of 119 Belarusian vehicles should arrive in the Russian region, with the first batch of gas-powered buses already arriving in the Krasnodar Krai cities earlier, while the delivery of the planned number of electric buses is expected.
Belarus and Krasnodar are also considering the prospect of organising assembly production of Belarusian elevators.
