18th century Holy Cross Church destroyed as a result of AFU shelling in Kursk Region
The 18th century Holy Cross Church in the Sudzha District of Russia’s Kursk Region has been destroyed as a result of the AFU shelling, TASS reports

Archpriest Sergiy Klintsov, the Head of the Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media of the Kursk Diocese, said the list of destroyed and damaged churches and monasteries in the Kursk Region had been supplemented with another object, “This is the Holy Cross Church of Cherkasskoye-Porechnoye village in the Sudzha District.”
The first mention of this church is dated 1784. The ensemble of the Holy Cross Church is an architectural monument of regional significance.
According to the latest data, as a result of shelling by Ukrainian forces in the Kursk Region, five churches and one monastery — the Gornalsky Nikolaevsky Belogorsky Monastery – were damaged.
