10,000+ children born in Belarus in 20 years thanks to IVF
In vitro fertilisation and other assisted reproductive technologies make a significant contribution to improving the reproductive potential of Belarusians – as stated by Professor Margarita Devyaltovskaya who heads the laboratory of problems of children and adolescents at the Mother and Child Republican Scientific-Practical Centre
“With the support of the state, Belarusian women have free access to IVF, and 1,800 IVF cycles were performed in 2023 in the country. In total, over the past 20 years, more than 10 thousand children have been born in Belarus with the help of assisted reproductive technologies. There are families where several children are born immediately after the IVF procedure. The parents are happy,” the specialist said.
