1,000 American soldiers to be deployed at Lithuanian training ground in Pabrade
About 1 thousand American soldiers will be stationed at the central training ground in Pabrade – as informed by Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nauseda, TASS reports
After visiting the location of the US Army contingent in Lithuania, Mr. Nauseda said, “The transfer of the Bundeswehr brigade to Lithuania does not at all lessen the importance of the presence of the American military. The modernised infrastructure of the training ground in Pabrade will allow the United States to plan the deployment of about 1 thousand military personnel there.” The Lithuanian leader's words were quoted by his press service.
In Pabrade, Mr. Nauseda observed the exercises of the American contingent, including the firing of Abrams tanks. According to him, the goal of Vilnius is to ensure the continuous presence of the US military in Lithuania.
The heavy battalion of the US Army has been located in Lithuania on a rotational basis since 2019. Americans arrive in the country with Abrams tanks, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and Paladin artillery systems. There have been already ten rotations.
