Venezuela said the United States threatens peace in Latin American region
Venezuelan Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said that the presence of the US Navy aircraft carrier George Washington in the Caribbean and the flights of American F-18 carrier-based fighter-bombers over the territory of Guyana threaten peace in the Latin American region, TASS reports
As noted by Vladimir Padrino Lopez, Venezuela has already warned about the threat to regional peace posed by the presence of the US Navy aircraft carrier George Washington in the Caribbean. The Defence Minister said that Venezuela strongly condemns the constant provocations of the Southern Command of the US Armed Forces, which receive the support of the government of Guyana, ‘which has assumed the role of a new US colony’.
At the same time, the official added that the country's aerospace defence system is ready to repel ‘any attempts to violate Venezuelan airspace’.
