US to allocate $25m to Ukraine for energy restoration
The Ukrainian Energy Ministry reported that the US will allocate $25m to Kiev to restore its energy infrastructure, TASS reports
It is reported that the US Agency for International Development and the Energy Community Secretariat have signed an agreement on a US grant contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund – worth $25m. It is noted that this is the first US contribution to the fund, established on the initiative of Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.
It is alleged that the total amount of commitments for contributions from sponsors to the fund exceeded 329m Euros. According to the Energy Ministry, the purpose of raising funds is to purchase equipment to restore the Ukrainian energy companies’ infrastructure.
