Slovakia expects to receive 13 Leopard tanks from Germany for its assistance to Ukraine by late 2023
Bratislava expects to receive thirteen Leopard tanks from Berlin by the end of this year for its assistance to Ukraine – as noted by Slovak Defence Minister Jaroslav Nagy, RIA Novosti reports
It is noted that Germany has already transferred two tanks to Slovakia.
"In accordance with the delivery plan from Germany, we have received another Leopard 2A4 tank. We are now talking about a second tank from Germany as compensation for 30 infantry fighting vehicles (BVP-1) that have been transferred to Ukraine," Mr. Nagy said.
The remaining pieces of equipment should arrive in the country by the end of 2023. The Defence Minister stressed that tanks undergo comprehensive repairs before delivery, adding that the first tank has already passed the test of certain tactical and technical parameters.
