Sergeyenko: multipolar world is here, great that Belarus is in the middle of it

Belarus has become a full SCO member and a BRICS partner, opening new venues for multi-lateral co-operation, Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko said in his address to the Emergencies Ministry officers’ congress today, November 16th, in Minsk

“The multipolar world is here, and it’s great that Belarus is right in the middle of that process,” Mr. Sergeyenko added.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives pointed out that Belarus today prioritises its economy.

“Our economy has been growing faster than the world average for the second year running. The growth planned for 2025 (like in 2024 and 2023) is 4.1 percent. Inflation in Belarus is lower than in Russia or Kazakhstan. Belarus is ranked 30th out of 166 countries in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) rating. The average salary this year nearly reached Br2.200 (equivalent of $687), the highest mark in the last 10 years. President Lukashenko has done everything to promote Belarusian products at friendly markets which are the majority of the world. We are expanding our connections with Africa, Asia, Latin America, including parliamentary connections. Our product supplies to the deep markets of Russia and China are also growing. Belarus' foreign trade, by the way, is nearing the target for our current five year plan 50 billion Dollars. We already more than compensated for the exports we'd lost in the West and in Ukraine,” he elaborated.

Mr. Sergeyenko also reiterated that every Belarusian at their workplace should do their best to ensure our economic sovereignty.
