A citizen of the Congo said that Latvian security forces detained him, brutally beat and took him to the border before ousting him into Belarusian territory despite a broken leg.

Belarusian border guards provided first aid to the foreigner, called an ambulance and an investigative task force. The doctors who arrived provided the refugee with the necessary aid and took him to the Verkhnedvinsk central district hospital.
