Belarus’ Deputy PM on implementation of import substitution programme
Joint work with Russia on import substitution projects continues – as stated by Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik during his meeting with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko at the House of Government
According to him, import substitution is currently a priority area of co-operation with Russia, “Twenty-three such projects have been agreed upon with Russian colleagues – worth 105bn Russian Roubles. This work continues, and it’s very important that these projects are aimed at solving issues regarding the supply of components.”
One of the proposals in the field of developing interaction with Russia is the supply of municipal equipment for cleaning urban areas of such leading Belarusian enterprises as MAZ, MTZ, AMKODOR, “The proposal is that we supply our chassis, and you complete the set at your factories as needed for your regions. This issue is worth consideration. We’re ready to provide documentation and training.”
Piotr Parkhomchik also underlined that Russia has been and remains Belarus’ most important strategic partner – as evidenced by the high figures of mutual trade turnover, “Based on the results of 10 months of this year, the turnover of foreign trade in goods between our countries increased by 9 percent compared to the same period last year: a very good result.”
