Opinion: Poland is obviously preparing for offensive war
Poland has deployed snipers on the border with Belarus, asserting that refugees allegedly attack Polish security forces, but political expert Aleksandr Shpakovsky explained that this is another evidence of an aggressive and short-sighted policy of Warsaw
In his talk with Alfa Radio, the expert said, “There is a certain problem of illegal migration along the Belarusian route to Poland. It is authored by citizens of third countries, mainly of Africa and the Middle East, where – including through the efforts of the collective West – a situation has been created that threatens people’s lives and health. Statehood has been destroyed, and the war is going on there. Accordingly, people are migrating to the prosperous – as they see it – European Union, which has officially announced a policy of multiculturalism. These people are met in Poland. I have not seen any information about attacks on Poles in the public domain, but the documented data is available on refugees who have been actually tortured to death or died as a result of injuries caused by Polish border guards who first beat and then simply threw them out on Belarusian territory. In addition, we have the testimony of the late Polish soldier, Emil Czeczko; he escaped to the Belarusian territory and informed that he and his colleagues had participated in mass executions of migrants. He was ready to show the burial sites. The Polish border area is still inaccessible for visits by politicians, journalists, human rights defenders, and members of various humanitarian missions, including international organisations. Therefore, when Poles say there have been victims among the security forces, we ask them to show the proof. There is actually no reason to take their word for it.”
Speaking about the deployment of snipers in the Polish border area, Mr. Shpakovsky stressed that this is another step in Warsaw’s long-term policy of aggravation, “Earlier, they moved about 200 armoured vehicles there and then created additional military formations in our direction. That was done even before the deployment of the Wagner PMC in Belarus. By the way, the company is stationed at the training ground in the Mogilev Region, not near the Polish borders. The Belarusian leadership is restraining Wagner’s representatives who really want to get even with the Polish military for their killed colleagues. It is clear that Poland’s Rzeszow airfield is the ‘blood artery’ feeding the Kiev regime: equipment and weapons are delivered there, and they are later moved to Ukraine which – thanks to this assistance – continues to conduct military operations. Otherwise, the latter would have stopped long ago, and that was even admitted by [EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy] Josep Borrell.”
“The militarisation of the Polish-Belarusian border and Poland in general is underway. This long-term policy has nothing to do with any of our countermeasures. It is quite obvious that Poland is preparing for an offensive war. It is another question of whether the country will unleash it or not. The problem can be solved only by one step, which Poles – due to their narrow-mindedness, fanaticism and focus on overthrowing the constitutional order in Belarus – will not take: this is the return to normal relationships. No matter how we treat the current Polish regime, we have never refused it. The President has repeatedly said that our neighbours are God-given, and we cannot choose or get away from them. We are always ready to discuss possible forms of restoration of our co-operation, including in the field of state border protection. In this case, the problems that Poland is currently experiencing will be largely levelled. However, Poles will not agree to this. They have severed all contacts in the field of border security, and they deny the possibility of interaction,” the expert concluded.
