Opinion: Belarus never gets tired of talking about peace and diplomatic solutions
Any war ends sooner or later, and Minsk does not get tired of talking about peace – as noted by political analyst Aleksandr Shpakovsky in his talk with the ONT TV channel
“It’s quite understandable that Aleksandr Lukashenko wants to immediately stop the conflict in Ukraine, i.e., to stop feeding the North American military-industrial complex with blood, to stop maintaining political life in the body of [US President Joe Biden] and his clique. Therefore, the fear of the collective West to allow or rather not to allow Belarus to the UN Security Council is understandable. Using this platform, it would be easier for our diplomats <...> to tell who the aggressors and co-aggressors are in the Ukrainian tragedy and present a plan for a peaceful settlement,” Aleksandr Shpakovsky believes.
According to the expert, both sides of the conflict should sit down at the negotiating table without preconditions.
“How realistic is it to achieve this goal here and now? So far, such a scenario seems completely unbelievable. However, any war ends sooner or later, so Minsk does not get tired of talking about peace and constantly puts forward peacekeeping initiatives, which at a certain stage of history will again be in demand both by time and by society,” Aleksandr Shpakovsky concluded.
