Military analyst: Belarus’ Polonez launch rocket systems are reliable shield for Union State
Belarus takes into account the experience of modern armed conflicts, especially in the zone of special military operation. During combat training, special attention is paid to the fight against cruise missiles and UAVs, fire and electronic warfare on a simulated enemy, and the use of vertical coverage by tactical airborne forces – as noted by military analyst Aleksandr Tikhansky.
“A quick transition from one type of combat to another is important to create a complex, dynamic environment. It’s necessary to make maximum use of the capabilities of weapons and military equipment at any time of the day, to be able to conduct combat operations independently – in isolation from the main forces – making deep raids, enveloping and encircling manoeuvres. During the last sudden inspection, issues were worked out to strengthen sections of the state border in order to prevent illegal entry of armed militant groups into the country. Work was underway to block the channels of entry into the country of weapons, ammunition and other means that can be used to destabilise the situation. The military were also training in the use of drones to search for sabotage and reconnaissance groups and clusters of forces of a conditional enemy in a remote wooded and swampy area. As Belarus’ Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin noted, getting combat experience without fighting is the greatest value. Among other things, the Wagner private military company shares its experience with the Belarusian army. Very serious work has been carried out against this background, based on the requirements of the Commander-in-Chief: combat training programmes have radically changed. Today they have been adapted to modern realities, have become more practical in nature and are primarily aimed at teaching what is needed on the battlefield,” the expert explained.
“Belarus’ Armed Forces face a strategic task in national defence: to inflict unacceptable damage to the enemy in case of aggression. Missiles and high-precision weapons are the best answer from the point of view of armaments. In this regard, the Belarusian army is combining diverse forces and means into a single information network – MARUS – to ensure maximum effectiveness of combat operations. Thus, during a sudden inspection of the combat readiness of troops, the Polonez-M multiply rocket launchers were tested as part of their integration into this system. In case of unleashing aggression near the Kaliningrad Region and the Suwalki corridor, the Belarusian Polonez launch rocket systems will be able to become a reliable shield for the Union State,” Aleksandr Tikhansky summed up.
