Lukashenko voiced problems in Belarus’ tobacco market

During today’s meeting on improving the production and sale of tobacco products, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has demanded to work out measures to preserve the volumes of tobacco production and exports, based on the interests of the state and labour teams

The Head of State noted that the current trends in the domestic tobacco market cannot but be alarming, “What are the wariness? Is someone escalating the situation? The reasons may differ, but it is necessary to work out measures to preserve the production and exports as much as possible based on the interests of the state and labour collectives.”

In this regard, the President raised a number of questions to the participants of the meeting: how the Grodno Tobacco Factory operates in these conditions, what opportunities are available for its effective work and development, how exports are progressing, and whether all reserves are used to ensure the effective operation of the tobacco industry as a whole.
