Lukashenko: strong regions mean strong country, it’s already strategy, not tactics

The state will always lend a shoulder to hardworking people – as noted by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko at the Dazhynki-2024 regional festival-fair in Klimovichi today

The Head of State stressed, “If I understand that we will get returns and generate profit on a certain project, I guarantee you all kind of support, including the financial one.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that the programme envisaging the development of the south-eastern territories of the Mogilev Region is in force since 2015. “About 2bn Roubles have already been invested, and a lot has been done using that money. Cement plants have been modernised, and they use local fuels now. A cement chipboard plant was built in the Krichev District, and an innovative confectionery production project was implemented in Slavgorod District. In addition, a breeding complex for 24 thousand pigs was put into operation, so the Klimovichi District now has the largest breeding farm in the region (with 3,600 breeding sows),” he noted.

The President stated, “This programme will continue, though its implementation will be in an updated form. It will become strategic and will contain not only preferences. It is necessary to identify specific new projects, including in the field of industry. We need jobs, and people should be attracted to these terrorises, to their native lands. Over the winter, we will also determine the tactics in agriculture. The main task is to further reduce the differentiation in the socio-economic development of our territories.”

“Strong regions mean a strong country! This is the way we will move along, and it is no longer a tactic – but a strategy,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.
