Lukashenko on state border protection: there will be no red lines but immediate response

In an interview with Rossiya TV channel today, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has commented on the possible reaction to the state border violation

Commenting on the incident with the drones that flew into Belarus’ territory from Ukraine, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that no one needs to aggravate the situation, especially since neither Russia nor Belarus are ready to extend the front line.

At the same time, the Belarusian leader emphasised, “We do not want escalation, we do not want a war against the whole of NATO. We do not want this, but if they do it and go for it, well... We will have no other choice. There will be no red lines at all. We have a line: it is the state border. As soon as they step it over – I am now speaking as a border guard – the response will be immediate. It has been prepared by an order – as it should be; its text is kept in a safe.”
