Lukashenko: events of 2020 will not repeat in Belarus, it is impossible
The events of 2020 will not happen again in Belarus, it is impossible – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko in his talk with journalists during his today’s working trip to the Brest Region
Answering the question about possible attempts by Western countries to cause trouble in Belarus during the upcoming election campaign and the likelihood of a repeat of the events of 2020, Aleksandr Lukashenko said, “This situation will not happen again. It is impossible. We will not trust anyone anymore. Why did that happen in 2020? I thought: well, those funds, democracy, the West, sanctions would be imposed on us again – so let’s do it democratically. What was the result? Did they thank us for that? They did not, and they later put us jointly with Russians in a single ‘boat’ saying that we were ‘co-aggressors’. That was because everything had been defined much in advance. We will not start games with them again on the field of democracy. We will exclusively proceed from our own positions, because we have seen what kind of Democrats they are. How did the election end in the United States? This poor Trump is being chased like a dog across America from one court to another, they are ready to put him in prison for 400 years. This is their democracy. We have already had enough of this, we are experienced people, we learn the lessons properly – so they should not even think that they can rock Belarus. We will not allow it. This is our country. Those who are rocking know what it will lead to.”
