Lukashenko congratulated compatriots on Independence Day and 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated his compatriots on Independence Day and the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from Nazi invaders, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

Dear compatriots!

I cordially congratulate you on the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus (Republic Day) and the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from Nazi invaders.

With its greatness and spiritual power, this holiday has linked together the continuity of centuries-old traditions, military and labour valour, as well as modern achievements of our people.

The liberation of Minsk from the Nazi invaders inspired Belarusians with enthusiastic joy and confidence in establishing peace in their native land, predetermined the complete liberation of Belarus from the Nazi occupiers and forever became a national symbol of freedom and independence.

The unconquered Homeland, which crushed the aggressor, was reborn from the ruins, overcame the severe consequences of a merciless war and today is moving forward with dignity along the sovereign path of development.

We look boldly into tomorrow and will do everything to make our descendants proud of us, as we are proud of the generations of Belarusians who – without sparing themselves – stood up for the Fatherland, worked selflessly and believed in a happy future for their children and grandchildren.

I wish you all strong health, kindness and well-being. May your homes be bright and cosy, and harmony and accord reign in every Belarusian family.
