Iran working on plan to move capital from Tehran

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced during a government meeting the start of work on a plan to relocate the capital of the Islamic Republic, TASS reports

The ISNA news agency reported that the Iranian leader appointed his First Deputy Mohammad Reza Aref to be in charge of preparing the plan.

“Ignoring this issue may lead to our country facing an environmental crisis and a host of other problems in the future,” Masoud Pezeshkian stressed.

Earlier, on September 7th, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced the need to move the capital from Tehran to the Persian Gulf coast, noting that Tehran is currently facing problems that cannot be solved in any other way.
