Grozov: ODIHR arrogantly rejected CIS proposals on election assessment criteria
Proposals on common election assessment criteria submitted by the CIS countries were arrogantly rejected by OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), said Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Statutory and Other Bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States Andrei Grozov when speaking to journalists before the start of the permanent representatives’ meeting
According to Mr. Grozov, “Back in the day, we have offered our Western partners, the ODIHR in particular, to use our materials to adopt common election assessment criteria for all countries. Unfortunately, our proposals have been arrogantly rejected.”
A regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth is taking place in the CIS Executive Committee headquarters in Minsk. 7 issues are on the agenda, including a report on the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers’ operations for 2020-2023, a review of the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation’ functions for 2019-2023, and information on the CIS Delphic Games and their prospects until 2030. Permanent representatives will also review preparations for the next meeting of the CIS Council of Prime Ministers and approve the Head of the CIS observers mission for the Belarusian Presidential election scheduled for January 26th, 2025.
